Dr. Akaki Tsilosani MD, PhD is a world-renowned hair transplantation expert, Fellow of the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery (FISHRS), Member of the Asian Association of Hair Restoration Surgery (AAHRS), Member of World FUE Institute (WFI), Honorary Member of the Ukrainian Hair Research Society, Member of Georgian Society of Plastic Reconstruction and Aesthetic Surgery (GeoPRAS), and Faculty of the American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine (AAAM). For more than 22 years Dr. Tsilosani has been working in the field of hair transplantation. During this time, he has performed over 12,000 successful hair restoration surgeries.

Dr. Akaki Tsilosani is the author of 42 scientific publications and 6 inventions in the field of hair transplantation. During 2002-2010, Dr. Tsilosani specialized in FUT giga sessions and dense packing. In 2008, he reached the density of 100 FUs in 1cm squared without decreasing the survival rate (92%), setting a new world record. In 2012, Dr. Tsilosani conducted a giga-session on a record scale - 9,688 follicular units (grafts) were transplanted in a single 11-hour session. These records remain unbeaten to this day.

In an effort to maximize the donor supply of patients in 2006, Dr. Tsilosani began combining FUT and FUE methods in a single session. Together with Robert True (USA) and Marcio Crisóstomo (Brazil), he is recognized as a pioneer of FUT and FUE combination techniques. 

In 2010, Dr. Tsilosani was the first surgeon in Europe who performed a Long Hair Transplantation surgery, which nowadays are a significant part of his work.

In addition to his scientific studies and private practices, Dr. Tsilosani has been teaching and training his colleagues from all over the world since 2009. Dr. Tsilosani conducts hair transplantation training courses not only in his institute in Georgia, but also in partner clinics in Russia and Ukraine. In addition, Dr. Tsilosani leads and supervises large workshops as a faculty of the American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine in Dubai and Kuala-Lumpur. He has trained more than 400 doctors who are now successfully practicing in their respective countries.
